Validating game cs

Every other time i launch cs go, l4d2, or half life the game stops responding and crashes my computer.i have reinstalled steam and the games many times but no fix.i tried to verify game integrity cache but when its done it tells me "1 file has failed to verify" how do i fix it?

If you're not already familiar with forums, watch our Welcome Guide to get started.

Starting from today every time I start it up, it validates the steam cache files. One time I somehow managed to launch it, then my computer crashed because it was running to much stuff and now I can't get back on at all.

It's okay if you can't help, but if you have any experience with this issue, it would be great.

Archived from groups: alt.games.half-life.counterstrike (More info? )Hey I am having a real big problem trying to connect to any server on steamnetwork.

weather it be half life or DOD i can play the games in singleplayer mode easily but when i try to connect to a multiplayer game it justfreezes on the load up when it gets to Validating Game Resources.

Do not run the verification process while performing other system-intensive processes, such as defragmenting your hard drive or scanning for viruses.Do not run this process for multiple games at the same time.I recently posted this to the Steam Community, thinking that was a more appropriate place for it..they were useless (see for yourself), and I've always gotten better answers from Tom's users, so I'm hoping someone might have some insight into this.I've run into an issue where when I run "Verify integrity of game cache" it ALWAYS finds files to validate. It has happened on two games now: Total War Rome II and Call of Duty Ghosts. Both games crash frequently and both games find files that fail to validate, but they NEVER have all files successfully validate and I've been unable to get either to run without crashing after 10-30 minutes.I have 4 other games installed on Steam and all of them are able to successfully validate all files.I've tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the offending game to no avail.I've also run the Disk Checking tools from my C Drive Properties Tools menu, as well as run "chkdsk /f" which runs chkdsk on boot, neither run showed any errors in the drive.I've set my BIOS back to defaults with no overclocks and eliminated all but the essential services and programs from starting doing boot, including disabling my antivirus. I'm at a standstill with both Steam and Activision support, and I haven't been able to find anything with Google, so I'm REALLY hoping someone here might have some ideas. This article explained about the XML document, XSD schema, and how to validate XML document against XSD schema using Microsoft .
